Waving: A Multifunctional Speaker and Desktop Organizer

RuiWang Xiang's Award-Winning Design Marries Function and Aesthetics

RuiWang Xiang's Waving is not just a speaker; it's a desktop organizer that allows users to store items and even a mobile phone. The design's unique properties lie in its dual functionality and aesthetic appeal. The shape, inspired by waves, is not just visually pleasing but also practical. The undulating form provides spaces to store desktop items, reflecting the fluctuating nature of the music it plays.

Waving's realization is a testament to innovative design technology. A sliding device on the back of the product allows for mobile phone storage, while the product itself is processed by plastic release. With dimensions of 160mm×75mm×20mm, Waving is compact enough to fit on any desktop without compromising its functionality.

Waving's interaction is user-friendly and intuitive. It can play music via phone Bluetooth, and the phone can be placed on top of the device. The product can be turned on by a key, and the volume can be controlled by a volume key. It also features a headphone jack for connecting headphones and a tap-c interface for charging, adding to its multifunctionality.

The design project began in Zhengzhou in June 2019 and was completed in August 2019. The main challenge was to seamlessly combine desktop storage and speakers. However, through careful research and innovative thinking, RuiWang Xiang and his team, including Xiaohan Zhang, Lei Yang, and Chengyong Li, were able to overcome this hurdle, resulting in a design that saves desktop space while providing multiple functionalities.

Waving's excellence in design and innovation has not gone unnoticed. It was awarded Silver in A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2020, a prestigious accolade that recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs. Waving, with its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, indeed introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
